Guidelines for using the Mission Coach Processes

Spatial Anchors
Most of the processes use spatial anchors.  A spatial anchor is a place where the Explorer will (sometimes repeatedly) experience a certain state or way of being, this is called anchoring.  There are many different types of anchors and for the purposes of these processes spatial anchors work fine.  Simply stated these are pieces of paper place on the floor with the name of the space written on them, for example the word "Ego".  It is usually better to allow the Explorer to write out these pieces of paper in their own writing, this contributes a sense of ownership of the process as does allowing the Explorer to lay the pieces of paper on the floor in a way that roughly follows the configuration shown in the process Guidelines.

The distance separating the anchors is left to the discretion of the Explorer.  When the process calls for the Explorer to "step into" this means step onto the relevant piece of paper.  These pieces of paper have a habit of moving around during the process as they get kicked or dragged, this does not matter just allow the Explorer to pull them back to the appropriate position.

The role of the Guide
The role of the Guide is read the process Guidelines to the Explorer and to Guide them through the process without being distracting or obtrusive.  It is useful to have an understand of the Explorer's beliefs around God and Spiritual energy.  All of the processes could be successfully completed by substituting the word "God" for "Universe" or another word the Explorer prefers.  If in doubt ask the Explorer which term they would prefer to use.  Some people have a challenge with the concept of the Soul Mind and Body being energy, if this is the case all references to energy can be removed.
Some of the terminology such as "Supra-Conscious Mind" can be confusing.

Where possible the exact term used in the CWG books has been used so that you can reference further reading in the relevant book's index.  As the Guide or Explorer you do not need to know exactly what the term means.  It is more important to know what state is to be accessed by that spatial anchor.  Very few interventions are required in these processes.  An intervention in NLP terms means the Guide intervenes at some point in the process, usually the intervention is the form of a question.

The role of the Guide in these processes is mainly one of sponsorship which means the Guide simply holds the space that creates a safe, trusting environment which allows the Explorer to complete the process without distraction.  The Guide is also responsible for giving the Explorer guidance as to where to go next or the question to be asked at a particular point.

Because the processes are energetic it is not uncommon for the Explorer at some stage to feel a bit wobbly.  Some people find the sensation a bit unnerving others find it very pleasant.  Should the Explorer become uncomfortable with the sensation carefully lead them to the "Earth Point" and sit them down if necessary.  This is just a precaution bearing in mind all the processes are conducted with the Explorer standing or moving from one space to another.

There may be occasions it is not appropriate for the Explorer to complete the process.  This is not be taken as an indication of failure on the part of Guide or Explorer it is simply and indication that it is inappropriate to continue at that time.  If this happens Guide the Explorer to a convenient point of closure and walk away from the place where you were performing the process.  If you both feel it is necessary feel free to discuss what happened and how it might be approached differently at some point in the future.

The role of the Explorer
As the Explorer your role is to trust yourself, relax and enjoy the process.  Answers may come in single words or short sentences and often will make no sense grammatically or have any obvious meaning to you.  Your language can often be child like and that could be indicative of communication with your unconscious thoughts and beliefs and that's fine.

Some people enjoy analysing their every word to find hidden meaning but while you are in the process is not the time or place to do this.  For example whilst guiding a young man through the Soul Mind Body Integration process when he asked himself about his Greatest Vision the word "Sailor" came automatically as did the word "Navigator" in the Next Grandest Version space.  Words such as these are usually a representation or metaphorical answer to the question and as the Explorer you should work with the metaphor.  After the process this young man thought about what the word Sailor represented to him, his picture of a sailor was someone on a yacht with the sail at full mast working with the elements of wind and tide to keep the yacht heading in the direction determined by him.

Setting Your Intention Before Starting A Technique
Setting your intention as Guide or Explorer is a very good way of creating a framework within which you can work together and it creates a verbal contract between the Guide and the Explorer.  It is important to distinguish between and intention and desired outcome or goal for the process which should be set by the Explorer.

Warning!
Each process carries a warning that should be followed.
Depending on the individual going through the process (from hereon known as the "Explorer") some of these processes can lead to a temporary feeling of confusion or disorientation.  Far from being a "bad" thing this could indicate a degree of internal re-alignment leading to positive change.  Always follow the Guidelines for creating an "Earth Point" where the Explorer can return to at any time during the process.

As a general rule do not drive or do anything else that may put yourself or other people at risk having been through a process, give yourself plenty of time to re-adjust.  This rule applies to both Guide and Explorer.

If for any reason you doubt you can safely complete a process do not attempt to do so.  If you doubt your ability to safely act as Guide please do not do so.  These processes are shared in the spirit of Self Leadership, please be sensible and take complete responsibility for your own actions.
