Q1) What are the 3 most inspirational books (or tapes, CDs, movies, courses etc) you have experienced and why did they inspire you?
i) Conversations with God Book 1:
This book was (and continues to be) a turning point for me. It is one of the very few books I have read twice and having marked the sections I felt to be significant I noticed virtually every page had something marked with sections frequently spanning several pages.

The book said what I was not aware I was thinking. By that I mean I found myself wholeheartedly agreeing with ideas and concepts I had never consciously considered but was in perfect harmony with. Something very special to me about CWG is its perfect symmetry and exquisite logic. I have not read or heard anything in CWG that contradicts any other part.

One part that really clinched it for me wholehearted throwing myself into the CWG camp was a few lines on pages 191 and 192:
God says: “The body was not meant to intake alcohol. It impairs the mind.
Neale: “But Jesus took alcohol! He went to the wedding and turned water into wine!”
God: “So who said Jesus was perfect?”
I suppose it’s the anarchist in me that this dialogue appeals to.

ii) Friendship With God
At last a explanation of the word “ego” that actually made sense!
I have admired, read and listened to a number of spiritual teachings and teachers. Up until I read FWG, which was book 4 in the CWG series, I had not received a definition of ego which transcended the contradiction – “if God created everything and everything God creates is perfect – where the bloody hell does the ego come from?!” Come to think of it where the bloody hell does hell come from?

There is, in FWG’s explanation of ego, what I would call “divine logic”. It is symmetrical, it makes sense. Here is just a snippet, to really understand it you need to read the whole section on pages 76-80:
“It’s okay to have an ego. In fact it’s very okay, because an ego is necessary in order for you to have the experience you are now having, as what you imagine to be a separate entity in a relative world.”

The message of CWG can be summed up by “We are here to experience the next grandest version of the greatest vision we hold about who we really are”.
This could also be called “Living our Mission”.

iii) Marianne Williamson’s “deepest fear” passage from A Return to Love:
I understand (from a Catholic Priest!) this is based on the writings of a Jesuit Priest and popularised by Nelson Mandela.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we’re liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.A miracle worker is an artist of the soul. There’s no higher art than living a good life. An artist informs the world what’s available behind the masks we all wear. That’s what we’re all here to do.”

Try saying "My playing small does not serve the world” a few times throughout the day! This whole passage takes no prisoners and leaves no room for excuses. It is very, very profound, very powerful and very empowering.

Q2) Who are your 3 most inspirational characters (living, dead, fictional or imaginary) and why do they inspire you?
i) Richard Branson
Richard Branson, the leader of the Virgin empire is a firm favourite. I admire his entrepreneurship, his persistence in pursuing what he believes to be right and his physical and moral courage. I bought the tapes “Loosing my Virginity” (his autobiography read by him) some time ago and I have listened to them at least a dozen times. He is eloquent, funny and has a way of empowering the people around him. He has integrity. Unusual also is the way he handles the press and the way the press handle him. There is also a touch of naivety about him which he freely admits. This is a powerful quality I admire and also surfaces in my other inspirational characters.

I remember buying “Tubular Bells” in 1976 and playing it to death. Tubular Bells was the record that put Virgin on the map. Back at that time I had a dream to play the guitar like Eric Clapton or Carlos Santana. One of my regrets is that I did not have the courage (or talent) to pursue that dream.

“Never let inexperience get in the way of ambition” is a expression coined by Branson. I have rephrased into the belief “I don’t know enough to know it can’t be done” this belief serves me well – especially now!

ii) William Brown
William is the character from the Just William stories by Richmal Crompton. He is 11 (or so) years old and is part of the group precocious boys collectively called “The Outlaws”. The stories are set around the time of WW2.

What I admire most about William is his courage and his ability to live in the moment. He trusts his instincts and his own sense of leadership. He is creative and a powerful motivator to the other “Outlaws”. Again there is this quality of naivety about him, he takes everything literally and it seems to work out okay for him. What becomes very apparent from the stories is the contrast between the so called “sophistication” of adulthood and the “innocence” of childhood.

iii) Forest Gump
Forest Gump is the character brilliantly portrayed in a film of the same name by Tom Hanks. Forest is a simple man, I guess he would be labelled “slow” or “mentally retarded”.

Like William Brown, Forest takes everything literally and seems to flourish. He is true to himself, true to others and takes it for granted that if someone suggests he should do something he does it. It never occurs to him that something might be “impossible”.

This might be considered to be a dangerous way to live in our “modern world” but there are elements of Forest Gump’s character that would serve us well to adopt.

Q3) What is the greatest challenge (money, time, relationships, work, health etc) you are likely to be facing in the next 12 months?
Developing the consistent courage and self-discipline (yuk - don't like that expression!) to complete my book "The Lemurian Seed" (book 1), develop the Mission Coaching business and the Living on Purpose seminars.

Q4) If you were given all the resources you need (i.e. money, time, courage, skill, manpower) for a period of 12 months and you knew whatever you did you would succeed
i) What would you achieve?  ii) What resources would you need?
i) This is closely connected question 3.
What I would achieve if I knew I would succeed is:
1) My book "The Lemurian Seed" (Book 1) will be complete and published, it would be huge success, introducing a new group of people to spirituality and causing them to question the purpose for this lifetime on Earth.
2) The Lemurian Seed Book 2 would be complete in draft form.
3) Book 3 would be complete in outline.
4) I would be co-writing the script for the film of book 1.
5) The Mission Coach web site will be the best resource to be found anywhere for Belief Models, techniques, ideas and stories related to living your life's purpose or Mission.
6) Mission Coaching will become the new "Life Coaching" and the Mission Coach web site and concept will offer the best Mission Coaches around the world.
7) The "Living on Purpose" workshops will be hugely popular with a growing number of people succeeding in transforming their lives into something totally fulfilling and meaningful by fully expressing who they really are through their Mission or Purpose in Life.
ii) Resources I need to achieve this:
Unwavering courage
Total commitment
Support from people who share the vision and/or have a specific skill
Time
Money
Openness to change
