Test for values and beliefs   Strategy A (test for beliefs & values satisified)
I read it back.
I see the words, I hear them and this invokes a feeling.
The words must have music.
VAK transposes into a sculpture.
I have to surprise myself.
I have to discover something.
It must interest me.
At the research stage I set my filters.
I gather information from magazines, newspapers, other books, internet etc.
Find out what works and what does not.
Look at the structure of what works.
Avoid something that has been done before.
Mind map chapters complete with page references to the source material. I do not need to mind map every chapter before starting to write.
Find specific people as a class of audience I want to address plus a generic audience who will find the information useful.
The audience should be neutral, not hostile.
I often set myself a target of 1000 to 2000 words a day.
I chunk the writing process by time. One chunk leads into the next one.
I usually question the whole idea about 1/4 way through the book.
I take care during the creative process of research and writing.
The book becomes a product when it can no longer be changed - at this point I detach from it.
Strategy B (test not quite satisified)
  It's okay just keep going.
My writing will be the best possible given my state of development at the time.
Strategy C (test not at all satisified)
It will always be satisfied, it will always shape up.

Enabling beliefs and values
There will be a good book at the end.
The more difficult the process the better the result in the end.
My writing will always pass the good enough test.
Beliefs & Values About The Ability

Beliefs and values about the ability   Definition of beliefs and values
The ideas flow, they don't have to be 100% perfect.
I have confidence that my brain works well.
It's important that the writing is well expressed.
Writing must be a generative process.
All writing is poetry.
= The rhythm of the sound of words invoke a pleasure that I can feel.
The quality of the result is dependent on the quality of the process.

Core beliefs and values   Supporting beliefs
I learn a lot from it.
Writing is a creative process and I enjoy being creative.
It opens doors.
It means being alive and that's what we do.
Engaging in the world.
Being active in the world not passive.
Failure occurs because your time horizon is not long enough.
There is a sequence implicit in a good structure.
Multiple outcomes for my writing are important.
Writing is paid advertising.
Additional Comments
Metaphors for Surprising Myself With My Writing
Musical Metaphor for surprise - I am playing something and a phrase comes together that I have not heard before.
Artistic Metaphor for surprise - mixing paint colours to create mauve which is going to be fine but a wonderful shade of green turns up that is even better.

Evaluation of the Quality of the Result of My Writing
It must satisfy multiple perspectives. I must care about it. I must not be a perfectionist. It must have rich representations. The result must satisfy me, the publisher and the public. I would be concerned if I thought it was good and the public didn't - I would want to know why because there should be some match between my internal and external referencing.

Additional Beliefs and Behaviours
The hardest part in some ways is finding the starting point.
If it's hard to say it's hard to read.
I don't want emotions to get in the way of my concentration.
I am evenly internally and externally referenced but the internal will win out.
I take a break when I feel like it.
I stop if I feel tired.
