Test for values and beliefs   Strategy A (test for beliefs & values satisified)
The physical symptoms of RA subside.
Increased energy.
Feel calmer and happier.
A feeling of quietness along the centre of the torso.
Internal dialogue - calm, absence of critical voice, absence of fear.
I can see myself as an older person.
I monitor my physical condition. I do a body check every morning checking for comfort levels everywhere (see note 1)
Strategy B (test not quite satisified)
Look for what is comfortable. Focus on possible dietary cause. Ask "what is my emotional level?" Dissociate from the source of the emotion.
Strategy C (test not at all satisified)
I always find a solution - see an Applied Kinesologist to find possible causes. I would not be complacent.

Enabling beliefs and values
I am willing to look and because of this there will be a solution - there has to be.
There is never any doubt I will find a solution.

Survival. So I can be who I want to be in the world - to be well.
I must survive for my children and demonstrate to them that anything is possible if you believe you can do it.
Sense of achievement when faced with a challenge and achieving a positive outcome.
I felt the medical model was dangerous to me.
You need people that understand the condition.
Emotions affect health.
If you acknowledge the fear, you can get creative with it.
I will reach the age of 87 and that's okay.
Additional Comments
Note 1 - G's previous primary operation used to be checking for pain levels she now checks for comfort levels.

Story
G's father had a high risk operation on a slipped disc when she was 4 years old. G vividly remembers him saying "you can rise above anything" and "I am going to heal myself". He was a highly creative man, a tool maker by profession. He believed "you can always find a way" this left a very powerful impression on G.

G's Philosophy
"Understand what the medical model wants to achieve and find less intrusive and less dangerous ways of achieving it."
