Ability   Context
Personal 1 to 1 executive coaching   Working 1 to 1 with clients but many of the principles are applied to groups. Usually business oriented and could be used in other areas. Nina's company "Steps For Life" provides training and coaching services to many organisations.
External Behaviour   Emotions (Sustained)
Strong direct eye contact.
Warm friendly smile.
Head slightly tilted to one side.
Gentle tone of voice.
Open posture invites the client to "tell me more".
State of stillness, calmness, serenity and balance.
  Emotions (Transitory)
Unknowing - not knowing the answer. Fun. Simplicity. Effortless.
Test for values and beliefs   Strategy A (test for beliefs & values satisified)
Absence of fear. Reassurance, absence of time. Deep kinesthetic breathing. Symmetrical physiology in client. Gut feel.
Absence of internal dialogue or fast internal dialogue such as "it's okay" or "just do it" type language.
Establish exquisite rapport. Matching breathing, voice tonality, gentle mirroring.
Strategy B (test not quite satisified)
Go back stages in establishing rapport, matching, pacing and leading. Consciously ask myself "am I really being everything I choose in this moment?" and "How am I being right now?" if incongruent then check physiology. Reaffirm outcome. Reaffirm client's perception of where they are and where they want to be.
Strategy C (test not at all satisified)
Maintain relationship, continue at another point in time.

Enabling beliefs and values
Trusting the process. Opening up and exploring choices through creativity. In order to be creative I have to go to a different place in my thinking. Paying exquisite attention in every sense. Whoever it is that I am with in any situation or relationship, I and they are exactly in the place where they are most meant to be, at that moment in time of their journey that is likely to produce learning or growth.   Beliefs & Values About The Ability

Beliefs and values about the ability   Definition of beliefs and values
Being an empty vessel so that I can be open and receptive to my client. To build exquisite rapport. Trust is there so that possibilities are easy to access and explore. = Operating out of a place of love. Openness, purity and non-judgement coming from the heart. Being in the moment. Flexibility in the moment.

Core beliefs and values   Supporting beliefs
Building quality relationships so that we can truly learn and grow in a spiritual sense.
I am nourishing my spirit through the vehicle of building relationships. Enables me to serve. Making a difference and enriching people's lives. Leaving a memorable legacy.
  Seek first to understand.
Sense of being on a journey.
When I am open I am more receptive to taking risks.
A skilled coach will move in and out of all 3 perceptual positions. The empty vessel is one of the gems in the treasure chest.
When I am in a place of unknowing I am far more receptive to my client's place of being.
